Anyone ever had to do a job where they dragged their ass because they hated it? Well, duh. Pretty sure everyone’s been there at one point or another. Now, anyone moved to a different position within the same company, and watched as pros are brought in to fill the gap, only to have them be at least as slow or slower? With no better results?

I don’t feel bad anymore. I wasn’t slow, I was competent and incredibly efficient while simultaneously being lethargic.

Fuck doubting yourself. You and we all know you were good. Bosses just be that way sometimes.

I’m in the same boat. I probably work 3-4 hours a day max and browse oppo for the rest while simultaneously doing more than my coworkers can accomplish in a full day of working their asses off and being stressed to the max. How they do so little in so much time is beyond me.

I’ve found my lazy/taking-it-easy pace to often be equal to the normal work pace of a lot of other people. I feel like a lazy POS doing it, then realize that other people are either working hard to reach that same point or possibly just slacking off a bit like me. The same thing happened in college when I’d write all my papers the night before or morning they were due, figuring I’d put out something that was C or maybe a B- material, and still got A’s on nearly every paper I wrote.

You’re in a little better boat than me. I alternate between the 2. Some days I’m crazy productive, other days I couldn’t motivate myself if I tried. It all averages out I guess

I either feel crazy productive, or feel so disgusted with being lazy that I physically can’t be productive. In the end it’s a wash.

I find I tend to think about things too much. The second I start to contemplate how to do something I’m pretty much through. As long as I can keep my mind elsewhere and let instinct take over, I’m good. Same back in school, I tended to do worse when I studied for exams.

I got fired from a job once. They said I wasn’t a good fit and didn’t have the skill to get jobs done on time. The last project I worked on there was their largest and most complex at the time. It went up on their front page of the site. They ended up hiring two people to replace me.

They were right about one thing though. I wasn't a good fit. I didn't like it there much.

Well with all the KPI metrics and weird *** performance variables companies force on employees, there isn’t a number you can put on nuance and the small things you do.
